Experience:
Mark Halverson has been with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory since 1979. He works primarily with the Building Energy Codes Program (BECP) and the Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Mr. Halverson is currently in charge of commercial R&D efforts within BECP, where he is involved in the development of energy conservation standards for new buildings through the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE - developers of Standard 90.1 for commercial buildings) and the International Codes Council (ICC - developers of the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC)for both residential and commercial buildings). Mr. Halverson also provides training on national and state energy codes and provides technical assistance to states during the development of state energy codes. Within FEMP, he is involved in energy saving performance contracts, measurement and verification, operations and maintenance, and strategic water and energy management planning activities.

Mr. Halverson is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Washington and is a Certified Energy Manager through the Association of Energy Engineers.
