Presentation Guide

There will be two types of projects represented at the meeting: the HLW portfolio that was initiated in FY02, and the new subsurface science and remediation awards initiated in FY03. Each principal investigator (P.I.) or designate will be requested to make an approximate 20 minute (give or take 5 min) presentation on their project. The precise presentation time will be informed when registration is complete. Each P.I. is asked to:

  1. concisely describe their scientific concept and objectives,
  2. define the site-specific problem or environmental management issue being addressed,
  3. present innovative aspects of approach, and key results obtained to date and their implications,
  4. state future science directions and plans, and
  5. identify site sample needs or desired collaborations to enhance applicability and impact of research.

Newly awarded projects will have to rely more on plans than results. Please note that a primary objective of the workshop is to make meaningful connections between EMSP researchers and DOE site remediation scientists, engineers, and managers, so it is important to emphasize the problem, the science, and potential research applications in your presentations.
