Obama Nominates Spokane Mayor to Institute Board
President Obama announced his intent to nominate Spokane's mayor, Mary B. Verner, to a key administration post as a member of the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS). Mayor Verner has a broad range of experience in business, law, planning, policy development, program design, and management. She has served on a wide variety of local boards and regional associations, and headed her city's programs to retrofit residential, commercial, and public buildings to be energy-efficient.
