Forbes Names Tri-Cities 11th Geekiest U.S. City
A statistical search has been conducted by Forbes for the geekiest towns in America, and the Tri-Cities ranks near the top for the highest percentage of smart people, as measured by the number of workers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics professions. More than 11% of Tri-City workers, or 9,700, work in science and technology. In 2009, there were 32 scientists or engineers for every 1,000 people employed in Benton and Franklin counties.
