*EnergySolutions, Inc. wins more funding for fuel-cycle program

Global Nuclear Energy Partnership
EnergySolutions (NYSE: ES) has received $5.9 million in its third round of funding from the U.S. Department of Energy in support of the Global Nuclear Energy Partnership. EnergySolutions, including about 30 staff from its 400-person Richland, Wash. office, is leading one of four industry consortia developing plans for an initial nuclear-fuel-recycling center and advanced recycling reactor. The additional funding represents a total of $13.2 million for the Energy Solutions team to date. The firm is using the funding to develop the conceptual design, technology roadmap, and business operations of reprocessing facilities and to establish scope, schedule, and priorities for the long-term advanced processes.
