Tri-Cities in top ten high-tech jobs nationwide
Tri-Cities: No. 7 for science and engineering
In recently published data from the National Science Foundation, the Tri-Cities ranked No. 7 in U.S. metro areas for science and engineering employees per capita, out of nearly 400 total metro areas of all sizes. In population data from 2006, 9.3 percent of Tri-Cities occupations were in science and engineering (7,880 out of 84,340 total jobs), beating out areas including San Francisco, Boston, Seattle, and Portland.
