PNNL recognized in state, nation
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Richland, Wash., ranked No. 2, following Microsoft, in Washington CEO magazine's 2007 ranking of top 50 high-tech firms in Washington. PNNL ranked No. 6 in the state's Top 25 biotechnology and biomedical firms, moving up two places from last year. The rankings, published in the February 2008 issue, are based on number of employees. In other news, PNNL won three Federal Laboratory Consortium Awards for Excellence in Technology Transfer. The Laboratory was honored for software that predicts building energy use, a project that expanded the availability and use of energy-efficient lights, and an improved method for manufacturing titanium parts.
