Hanford Plants: Observed Species
Sackschewsky and Downs (2001) compiled a comprehensive list of plants observed on or near the Hanford Site. The lists below are from their report. The plants are grouped by life form, such as Shrubs or Forbs. Below that level they are ordered by Family, then by scientific name. Information on origin and growth habit are also provided. Origin of a plant, whether it’s introduced or native, is relative. Here, species that are known to be of Eurasian origin or brought in from other parts of North America are considered introduced. All others are considered native.
