Sustainable Design Training Courses

Sustainable Design training has been deployed at both the site-level and project-level since 1995. Two courses are available to train facility designers, engineers, and project managers on methods to incorporate sustainable design into new or modified facilities.

Pollution Prevention Design Assessment (P2DA) Workshop (4-6 hours)
This training program includes computerized training utilizing the EDGE Software, the Pollution Prevention Good Practice Guide (FM-GPG-025, 1996), descriptions of design successes, and other "design for environment" materials. This course focuses on identification of opportunities to incorporate pollution prevention into active facility design projects.

Site Level Integration of Pollution Prevention into Facility Design (4 hours)
This course provides an overview of sustainability, pollution prevention and "design for environment" principles and outlines strategies to incorporate these concepts into the infrastructure of facility design. The training utilizes the Roadmap for Integrating Sustainable Design into Site-Level Operations (PNNL, 2000), and covers strategies to incorporate pollution prevention into facility design procedures and standards, contracts, and project planning.
