Institute for Environmental Studies
Resources include information, reports and data libraries about
the Asian Pacific Integrated Model (AIM). AIM is a large-scale
computer simulation model developed by the National Institute
for Environmental Studies in collaboration with several research
institutes in the Asian-Pacific region.

Institute for Applied Systems Analysis
Contains resources about the RAINS model. Documentation of RAINS-Europe
and RAINS-ASIA is available along with some databases.

Institute of Public Health and the Environment (RIVM)
Resources include documentation about the IMAGE and FAIR models
with scenarios and references. The software for the FAIR model
is available for download.

IIM Ahmedabad-Stanford Joint Study on "Electricity Sector
Reforms: Impact on Development and Environment" is a project
sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development
(USAID). The study focuses on the effects of the electricity sector
reforms in India on the technologies, institutions and the environment.
The study takes the Indian macroeconomic environment as its point
of departure, while viewing the Indian states as the focal points
of electricity reform policies, decisions and actions.

An international research consortium with membership drawn from
electric power producers in the US and elsewhere. The site includes
the Global Climate Change page of the Environment Group, the Model

Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN)
An intergovernmental network for the promotion of global environmental
change research and links between science and policy making in
the Asia-Pacific Region. Publications include APN Newsletter,
reports and other useful documents available from the APN Secretariat.

Mission of START is to develop a system of regional networks of
collaborating scientists and institutions to conduct research
on regional aspects of global change and to assess the causes
and impacts of regional global change. START works towards providing
relevant information to policy makers and governments. It aims
to enhance scientific capacity in developing countries by strengthening
and connecting existing institutions, by training global change
scientists and by providing them with improved access to data,
and research results.

This is a scientific research programme built around a family
of core projects. Each core project carries out integrative research
in a focused area of Earth System Science. IGBP's mission is to
deliver scientific knowledge to help human societies develop in
harmony with Earth's environment.

Congress for Asia and the Pacific
This consists of high-level government officials (including ministers),
experts from international organizations and private organizations
and environment researchers in the region, where they can freely
exchange viewpoints in their personal capacities. The purpose
of ECO ASIA is to promote long-term activities for environmental
protection by governments and relevant organizations in Asia and
the Pacific Region toward the realization of sustainable development
of the Region.

Human Dimensions Programme(IHDP)
IHDP on global environment change is an international, interdisciplinary
and non-governmental research programme, aiming at "the development
and integration of research on the human dimensions of global
environmental change".
- Asia-Pacific
Environmental Innovation Strategy Project (APEIS)
APEIS was launched at the Environment Congress for Asia and the
Pacific (ECO ASIA) 2001 held in Tokyo, Japan to further the outcomes
of the ECO ASIA Long-term Perspective Project (LTPP) for sustainable
development in the Asia-Pacific region. The project aims to assist
developing countries to enhance their capacity for environmental
management and protection through development of scientific knowledge-based
tools and innovative strategy options to promote informed decision-making
for sustainable development for policy makers in the Asia-Pacific
region.
